~Candle Making & Painting~

~There`s a little candle~
glowing in the night
helping to give some light
if more little candles
shone around the world
they`d make the world so bright!

Stained glass Candle Windows

We cut out circles from cardboard.........
then circles from contact and attached to the back
we stick on our designs.....................
then stick on pieces of torn up kite paper.

To warm up our spirits on cold days................

OK mum`s got a inspiration !!!! Lets make a snow candle.......

here we go..............................
I need a base?
look what is in the bottom of the saucepan from yesterdays candle making.
great...............we have a base now.

just as the wax is starting to set
we whip it with a fork ............
and then spoon on to a ready made pillar candle......

We drip wax over our base to form icicles.......
children very curious about what mum is up to here.....

............... ~Snow candle~..........................

~Candle Dipping~

We melted different colours of wax into cans
then we started dipping our wicks in.................
I found the children having two wicks to do
helped them to wait between dippings.........................

these are the beautiful candles we made....
It was truly magical as the candles dried
the colours changed if by magic...............................

~ Glass Lanterns ~

lots of painting..........the gold was very enchanting....

~ Beautiful lanterns to warm our Winter nights ~

~Floating Candles~

we melt the wax................
which the kids loved breakingup with hammer and srewdriver.

then poured the melted wax into moulds & cookie cutters
the children put the wicks in when the wax started to set.

~ Enchanting candles on a Winter Day~

~Star hexagon star Lanterns~

(( At night when the candle is lit stars appear))
~all in amazement to the children~

~Paper Star Lanterns~
water colour painted paper

Let dry over night then the fun begins................

we traced circles then folded following instructions
how does that go mmmm......
lets unfold the one given to us...........
rrrrrrrrrr Stephanie I wish u were here...
then we kept trying and all of a sudden...
it just started folding into place..................
we were so happy we kept trying and didn`t give up..

~They are trully beautiful~

A star lantern alight at nightime

~Rolled Beeswax Candles~

I find the beeswax sheets I bought at the steiner fair.........
we unfold them
a sweet smell fills the air
we cut the sheets and start rolling...........
our candles ~come to life~ by our hands.

  1. How very inspiring this all is!!! I shall have to ask you about the chrystals on pipe cleaners. How wonderfully creative and fun it all looks. Has anyone ever told you you have Kindergarten Teacher potential????? What a great job you are doing! Such joy shines through this post. What a great record of you home schooling too!
    Love Steph :)
